                                            LITIGATION PARALEGAL – PART-TIME (15-25 hours per week)

POSITION: McKenzie Scott PC seeks a part-time litigation paralegal (15-25 hours per week) with state and federal experience who is interested in joining a dedicated team of justice-seekers.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Our litigation paralegal will collaborate on civil rights and personal injury cases under the supervision of a more senior litigation paralegal.  Responsibilities will include preparing pleadings and filing in state and federal courts; preparing initial drafts of discovery requests, pleadings, and requests/subpoenas for medical records; calendaring discovery deadlines per state and federal court rules; assisting with trial support; and communicating with clients, experts, and court personnel. An ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and familiarity with state and federal rules, local rules, and chambers rules.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should be paralegals as defined by Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 6450.  Two to three years’ experience is preferred but all candidates will be considered.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Hourly rate ranges from $30-35 per hour depending on experience.
